I was reading through old documents and came across this prayer today. It blessed me and so I wanted to share. Mostly so I have it as a reminder to myself in the future.

Dear Lord, 

Take my heart in Your hands. Remind me of Your majesty, Your goodness, Your grandeur. Remind me of my smallness yet importance to You. Ease my anxious heart this morning. Speak Your calming words as a balm to my soul. Show me oh Lord how to serve You best today, Show me how to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with you today. Show me the justice you seek. Show me when and how to show mercy. Help me to remember my place in it all. Remind me of Your goodness, help me to reflect Your strength, Your grace, Your mercy, Your everything – more of you and less of me. Help me to die to myself more each day. Help me oh Lord to show others of Your promises, Your plans, Your love for us.

Teach me how I can help to build others up, lift them up, break down the ceiling to bring them to You. Show me how to continue to point those around me to You. Help my words to be always true and always filled with grace. Forgive me oh Lord for the times I have failed in that – for the times when pride gets the better of me and I feel that I know best that I deserve things that I am better than them. Help me to remember that all of it comes from you so that I can do your will and bring you glory. Help me not to be jealous of others’ accomplishments but instead to build them up. When I see pride in others or insecurity, show me the best way to confront it. Help me not to ignore things but to be brave and kind in showing these things to those who I love.
